"Breathtaking and incredibly sexy, BABY, COME BACK is an emotional tour de force." Skye Warren, NYT Bestseller A MAN WITH NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE I sold my soul a long time ago to pay my father’s debts. Now my life is a prison no friends. No family. Nothing it would hurt to lose. I never should’ve touched Abby. I tried not to, but she is beautiful, magnetic, sexy. Everything I want but can't let myself have. UNTIL HE MET HER She seduced me not knowing who I was or what I really do in the shadows. I should have resisted her, but I wanted to be the man Abby thought I was for as long as I could. But all debts must be paid, sooner or later. And mine are paid with blood. Now Abby knows who I am, what I am, and she’s run from me. I would have let her go for her own good. But when I find out she’s carrying my baby — there’s nowhere she can hide…

Baby, Come Back features Molly O'Keefe's signature style that combines sexy romance with a bit of intrigue to keep the reader guessing over and over again. This one is a great compliment to Bad Neighbor in which we get Abby and Jack's story (sister and brother to Charlotte and Jesse). What starts as just a job at a bar, one that might be considered a bit seedy from the outside, becomes the start of one wild ride for out couple. But there is no mistaking the immediate electricity from both upon meeting one late afternoon, with Jack buried in a book at the bar and Abby getting her lay of the land for her night as a vodka server. What might be considered a bit of apathy on both their parts hides the true attraction, one that should have never been given even an ounce of attention. But as their lives get inexplicably tied to one another and secrets held close are swiftly and painfully revealed, the real action starts and it's only a matter of time if hearts will be mended and connections can be saved.

I loved these characters and the way the stage was set for both their fierce passion and their heartbreaking separation. The author successfully uses an unpaid debt to strap Jack with the life of an enforcer for a shady man. Jack is much more than meets the eye and when his walls crumble at just the slightest touch from Abby, my heart was shattered for him. They are both smart people and I loved that they were very evenly matched, with their well-timed banter and their time between the sheets. I was grateful we got the 'backstory' so to speak before we get the story then told in real time. There is a ton to grasp and you really need to pay attention to every word. There is no holding back and as the 2nd part of their story takes hold, I was still wondering if they could ever truly make it work. So much is held back on both their parts and forgiveness is never a given.

It's a well-written tale that at times is very fast-paced but somehow maintains the 'slow burn' of Jack and Abby finding their way to each other.

We get a few glimpses of both Jesse and Charlotte and fences start to be mended as their lives become more stable as their stubborn siblings figure things out.

Baby, Come Back had me breathless at times yet kept me warm with the promise of a happy ending. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed. The epilogue was perfection.

4 solid stars!!

Baby Come Back by M O’Keefe
Jack is paying for the sins of his father. He works for the mob boss Lazarus. He knows he should never have a woman while working for this organization. When Abby walks into the club the attraction in instant but her warns her off. Abby is intrigued by this man who keeps giving her mixed signals. When they finally give into one another, they know it can go no further than the few days they have together. When Abby goes back to the club to talk to Jack, she witnesses something that puts her in danger and she runs. Jack decides it is time to find her. Can he protect her and his baby? Can she forgive him? Can they have a HEA? Abby character was easy to love. She was direct and yet had insecurities. Jack character was mysterious. He was an enigma of sorts, one moment evil and bad and the next he was caring and sweet. The chemistry between Jack and Abby was electric, full of intensity and incredibly addictive. I enjoyed the suspense along with the romance of this story.
Reviewed for Hot books and Sassy Girls book blog
I was honestly surprised that I liked this story. I was willing to read it because I got it free. Also the book description and reviews made it it looked like it contained hot sexy times. It did. For me there were around the right amount there were some but not so many that the book was all smex and no plot.

I like we are given both the heroine's and heroes point of view. I always feel like it adds more to a short if both of their points of view are included. I I did not mind how the story toggling from the present to the past and back again. I was still able to easily follow the story. Also I did not read another book in this series but that was not a problem to me. It is a standalone. In addition I was fine with the ending.

Why not 5 star review? The heroine. I was not a fan of the Abby. For one, she was shallow. In her eyes here main asset and value was her good looks and she used her beauty and flirting skills to manipulate men. This includes a teacher when she is in high school She seduced him to pass a class that she failed 3 prior times. It was never addressed if the professor was married or not but it would not surprise me if he was because the way she acts it seems like it would not bother her to have snex with another woman's husband. Also she used her beauty to rope in Jack. Abby kept hitting on him until he caved. Sadly I never felt the so called love between them but the book was still a decent read.
Sometimes a person has to bury the person they are to become the person they have to be in order to survive the circumstances of their life. For Abby it was health issues and codependency with her twin. For Jack it was atoning for the sins of his father, and having to drop out of college and become a thug in order to save his brother's life as well as his. Now as adults their lives will forever be intertwined. Their relationship not only leads to unprotected sex but a baby. But the breakup of their relationship will lead to Jack's brother and Abby's sister (Jesse & Charlotte in Bad Neighbor)the first book to become involved. Jake knows things are about to change for him so he leaves Abby a message that he loves her and left something behind for her. In order to be free from the life Jake leads he makes the choice to end the man's life who killed his father. Abby witnesses this and runs. Months later after finding her sister living in the same apartment complex as his brother he breaks into her apartment in order to find Abby. She knows he's coming so she runs again but it doesn't stop him from finding her. Both are having a hard time stepping away from who they were to become who they want to be. And fear could keep them apart. Abby although scared has no problem with telling him what he needs to do in order to be apart of her and their child's life and leaves it up to him if he will come for them or walk away. When all hope seems to be lost Jack steps into the man he wants to be and begins his family.
